Whip it up! Evening cooking classes coming to the chq building!
With staying in now being the new going out, Victoria Mackechnie will be hosting evening classes in the chq building to show you just how easy it can be to create cheap delicious dishes at home!
Victoria Mackechnie has been teaching cookery for a number of years both here and in Sydney, Australia. Passionate about food, she has designed the Whip It Up cookery courses to appeal to those who want to learn how to produce delicious quick dishes for easy entertaining and family suppers. All classes are demonstration and will involve Victoria preparing and cooking 2/3 dishes each evening.
Victoria will be teaming up with Mitchell & Son to tell you about choosing the correct wines to complement different dishes. Each evening Maria Moylan of Mitchell & Son will tell guests how to choose wines to match different food flavours.Each guest will taste the wine choices for the evening along with the dishes prepared.

Fish for Thought - Wednesday 30 September 6pm to 8pm €34.50 per person
This class is a chance to learn a selection of easy tasty fish dishes. Fish is often the most popular dish on restaurant menus but we rarely cook it at home. This is an opportunity to get confident in the kitchen with delicious fish recipes. Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants will be on hand to give great tips on how to select the right wines to complement our fish recipes and of course all food and wine will be sampled.
Mediterranean Medley - Wednesday 7 October 6pm to 8pm €34.50 per person
Mediterranean cooking is always popular. This course offers delicious recipes packed with Mediterranean flavors. An ideal course if you are looking for new ideas for entertaining friends and family. Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants will be picking excellent affordable wines to pair with our dishes and everyone will sample both food and wine.
Maximum Mexican - Wednesday 14 October 6pm to 8pm €34.50 per person
Bursting with zing, this course packs a real punch. This is an opportunity to learn some tasty traditional Mexican dishes - all of which are simple to produce and very popular. Instead of mojitos, Mitchell & Son have chosen some superb wines to complement the Mexican flavours we will be creating. As always, everyone will sample the dishes we create and the wines to accompany them.
Devilish Desserts - Wednesday 21 October 6pm to 8pm €34.50 per person
This evening class is not for the faint hearted! Bring your sweet tooth and prepare to be in heaven. We will be baking three irresistible desserts that are guaranteed crowd pleasers. Mitchell & Son have picked some truly delicious wines to complement our desserts and everyone will enjoy sampling both wines and puddings!
Each participant will receive a recipe booklet and sample all food and wines on the evening.
