Irish team for the Mongol Rally 2009 set off from George's Dock!
The Mongol Rally 2009 left Goodwood, England on 18th July. A group of former Belvedere College students are taking on the challenge and representing Ireland by driving a 2000 VW Polo Estate with a 1.4 litre engine one third of the way around the world in the name of charity! The 4 brave students set off on their journey of a lifetime from George's Dock, Docklands on the 16th July 2009
The group who call themselves ‘Vagabonds of the Eastern World' are taking part in the Mongolian Charity Rally to raise funds for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, They will drive the gruelling 10,000 miles to Ulan Baatar, capital of Mongolia through France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and finally Mongolia and hope to complete the rally in about 10 weeks.
